Two Parishioners awarded Papal Medal

On the weekend of 4/5 August 2007, the Papal Medal, Benemerenti, was awarded to two parishioners, Emil Oldehaver, from St Anthony  Parish and Lavea Tufuga from St Thérèse Parish.

The Benemerenti medal is given for outstanding and exceptional service to the Church and its ministry.  Benemerenti means "well done, well deserved."

The medals were presented by Theresa Jones, a parishioner of St Anthony Parish, and coordinator of St Anthony Family Support Services.  Theresa herself was awarded the Benemerenti medal on 5 March 2006.  Theresa was the first Mangere parishioner to receive this award.

Congratulations to Emil and Lavea - check out the Gallery for pictures and the Bulletin for further details.
